A highly regarded South East law firm is seeking an ambitious Employment Solicitor or Associate (2-5 PQE) to join its growing Employment team in Guildford.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected practice known for delivering pragmatic, commercially focused employment law advice to both employers and senior executives. The team advises a diverse range of clients, including SMEs, larger corporate organisations, owner-managed businesses, and high-net-worth individuals across a variety of sectors.
You'll work alongside experienced employment specialists on a broad range of complex and high-quality matters while developing your own expertise, client relationships, and professional profile.
The Role
The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters while supporting senior lawyers on more complex and high-value instructions.
Your work is likely to include:
- Advising employers and senior executives on a wide range of employment law issues
- Employment Tribunal litigation and dispute resolution
- HR advisory and day-to-day employment support
- Settlement agreements and employment terminations
- Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, handbooks, and workplace policies
- TUPE matters, business restructures, and workforce change projects
- Discrimination, whistleblowing, and restrictive covenant disputes
- Supporting corporate transactions from an employment law perspective
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Delivering client seminars, workshops, and employment law updates
Working closely with colleagues across the wider business services division, you will gain excellent exposure to a broad client base and a wide variety of employment law issues.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- 2-5 years' PQE in Employment Law
- Experience advising on a mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- The ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues
- A commercially focused and pragmatic approach to legal advice
- Strong organisational and case management skills
- An interest in business development and networking activities
- A collaborative mindset and genuine commitment to excellent client service
