An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a high-calibre Employment Associate to join one of London's most highly regarded specialist employment teams. Consistently recognised as a Tier 1 practice for senior executive employment work, the team is widely considered a market leader in advising senior executives, partners, employers and business leaders on their most strategic, reputation-sensitive and commercially significant employment matters.
This is an opportunity to join a large specialist employment team of more than 20 dedicated employment lawyers, offering exposure to an exceptional breadth of work and the chance to learn from numerous leading partners, counsel and senior associates. Associates benefit from working across multiple partner groups rather than operating in a narrow silo, resulting in a significantly broader technical training experience and faster professional development.
The practice is recognised for handling complex, high-value and often international mandates, combining premium employer-side advisory and disputes work with a market-leading senior executive practice.
The Team
The employment team is one of the largest dedicated specialist employment practices in the City and comprises a substantial group of partners, counsel, senior associates and associates advising on the full range of employment law matters.
Client Base
The team advises a prestigious client base spanning multinational corporations, private equity-backed businesses, financial services institutions, professional services firms, entrepreneurs and family-owned businesses. It is particularly renowned for its work advising senior executives, board members, partners, LLP members and ultra-high-net-worth individuals on complex and often career-defining employment matters.
The Role
The successful candidate will work across a broad mix of contentious, advisory and transactional employment matters, including:
- Advising employers on day-to-day employment and HR issues.
- Supporting senior executives on appointments, exits, restrictive covenants, bonus disputes and settlement negotiations.
- Managing Employment Tribunal claims, including discrimination, whistleblowing and unfair dismissal matters.
- Assisting with High Court litigation involving team moves, confidential information and business protection issues.
- Advising on partnership and LLP disputes.
- Supporting corporate transactions through employment due diligence, TUPE advice and transaction-related employment matters.
Essential
- 1-3 years' PQE gained within a reputable employment practice
- Experience of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters
- Exposure to Employment Tribunal litigation
- Strong exposure to Senior Exec. work and corporate support work
Desirable
- Exposure to partnership or LLP matters
- High Court litigation experience
- International employment law exposure
- Business development and client relationship experience
