An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a junior Employment Associate to join a highly regarded law firm with a longstanding reputation as one of the UK's premier advisers to the media, entertainment, music and sports sectors. The firm is widely recognised as a market leader within the creative industries and has been advising high-profile individuals, rights holders, brands, production companies and businesses for more than 50 years.

  • Entrepreneurial growth businesses and established corporate clients

The Role

Working closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers, you will gain exposure to a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including:

  • Drafting and negotiating employment contracts and service agreements
  • Advising senior executives on appointments, exits and strategic career moves
  • Settlement agreements and negotiated departures
  • Disciplinary, grievance and performance matters
  • Redundancies, restructurings and business reorganisations
  • TUPE and workplace change projects
  • Restrictive covenants and team moves
  • Employment tribunal litigation
  • Discrimination, whistleblowing and unfair dismissal claims
  • Bonus, incentive and remuneration disputes
  • HR advisory work for employer clients
  • Employment support on corporate and commercial transactions

Candidate Requirements

Applications are welcomed from solicitors with between NQ - 3 years' PQE who can demonstrate:

  • Strong employment law experience gained at a recognised practice
  • Excellent technical and drafting skills
  • Experience of advising either employers, senior executives or both
  • Exposure to employment tribunal litigation
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in media, entertainment and sport
  • Strong interpersonal and client management skills
  • A proactive and entrepreneurial approach to business development
  • The confidence to work directly with sophisticated and high-profile clients
