Senior / Principal Associate - Employment (London)

This is an opportunity to join a firm renowned for their work in health, care and wider regulated sectors, where it handles large-scale workforce issues, industrial relations and high-stakes disputes with significant reputational sensitivity.

The Role

You will play a key role within a leading employment team, advising on a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious matters. Responsibilities include:

  • Advising on complex employment disputes, including tribunal litigation and high-value claims
  • Supporting clients on strategic HR issues, organisational change and workforce restructuring
  • Providing day-to-day employment advice to senior stakeholders and HR teams
  • Leading on matters involving industrial relations, discrimination, whistleblowing and TUPE
  • Drafting and negotiating employment documentation, policies and settlement agreements
  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers

Client Base

The firm acts for a strong portfolio of high-profile, predominantly institutional clients, including:

  • Major public sector organisations and NHS bodies
  • Private healthcare providers and life sciences organisations
  • Education institutions and regulatory bodies
  • Charities and not-for-profit organisations
  • Corporate clients operating in highly regulated environments

This role offers exposure to complex, reputationally sensitive and often high-impact matters.

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with 5+ PQE
  • Strong background in employment law, with a mix of contentious and advisory experience
  • Experience advising public sector or regulated clients (highly desirable)
  • Strong client-handling skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
