About this role

Top Tier International Law Firm | Senior Employment Associate / Legal Director - London

The opportunity

This is a senior‑level role within a market‑leading employment practice known for sitting at the intersection of work, technology and regulation. The team has a strong reputation for advising innovative, fast‑growth and international businesses on some of the most complex and commercially sensitive employment issues in the market.

The role

You'll be working as part of a genuinely integrated employment team, closely aligned with corporate, IP, tech and regulatory colleagues, with a strong international dimension.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on complex advisory employment matters, often with a cross‑border or regulatory overlay
  • Leading on high‑value and sensitive matters including executive exits, restructurings, workforce strategy and investigations
  • Supporting employment aspects of corporate transactions, particularly in innovation‑led sectors
  • Mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the strategic direction of the practice
  • Working collaboratively with overseas teams on multi‑jurisdictional mandates

This is a role with real autonomy and visibility, suitable for someone already operating at a senior associate or legal director level.

Client base

The client mix is a key differentiator. You'll advise:

  • International and UK‑headquartered businesses operating in technology, digital media, life sciences and other regulated industries
  • High‑growth companies scaling their workforce internationally
  • Established multinationals navigating transformation, post‑M&A integration and workforce change
  • In‑house legal and HR teams who value pragmatic, commercially grounded advice

The work is often strategic, time‑critical and high profile, rather than volume‑driven.

Requirements

  • England & Wales qualified 6-8 PQE Employment Lawyer
  • Strong experience from a recognised employment practice, ideally with exposure to tech‑focused or international clients
  • Confident handling complex advisory work and senior stakeholder relationships
  • Genuine interest in the evolving workplace agenda (technology, regulation, data, cross‑border working)
