Property Lawyer | Residential (with Commercial Exposure)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Property Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer to join a well-established and highly regarded Property team based in Witney. This role would suit a motivated property professional looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive, collaborative firm known for its quality of work and strong local reputation.

The Role

This is a fee-earning position with a primary focus on residential property matters, alongside the opportunity for those with relevant experience to become involved in commercial property work. The role offers variety, autonomy and scope to contribute to the continued development of the property practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload of residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, freehold and leasehold matters, and re-mortgages

  • Advising on commercial property matters where appropriate, including acquisitions and disposals, refinancing, leases and renewals, conditional contracts, option and promotion agreements, and development agreements

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional referrers

  • Supporting partners with business development initiatives and contributing to the growth of the property team

About you

  • Qualified solicitor, licensed conveyancer or equivalent, with approximately 3+ years' PQE

  • Strong experience in residential conveyancing is essential

  • Commercial property experience is advantageous but not required

  • Familiarity with CQS requirements and working within CQS-accredited processes is essential

  • Confident managing a busy caseload and prioritising work effectively

  • Able to run files independently with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrates good billing discipline and financial awareness

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client and professional relationships
