The Senior Professional Negligence Associate role sits within a top tier Legal 500 boutique firm in London specialising in complex professional indemnity and negligence disputes. As a Senior Professional Negligence Associate, you will join a highly regarded, partner-led team known for its technical strength, commercial focus, and direct client relationships.

This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced disputes lawyer to take ownership of high-value, strategically important cases involving financial advisers, solicitors, insurance brokers, surveyors and other regulated professionals. You will play a key role in shaping case strategy, running matters with autonomy, and contributing directly to client outcomes.

The firm offers a collaborative, specialist environment where senior lawyers are trusted with real responsibility, involved early in decision-making, and given the platform to lead on complex matters from instruction through to resolution.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead on a varied caseload of professional negligence and professional indemnity matters, running files with significant autonomy from instruction through to resolution.

• Work closely with partners on complex, high-value disputes.

• Lead client relationships, providing clear, commercial advice and driving strategy across all stages of litigation.

• Oversee and mentor junior lawyers, ensuring quality of drafting, case preparation and technical analysis.

• Handle matters involving financial services professionals, legal professionals, insurance brokers and selected construction-related disputes where relevant.

Requirements

• 8+ years' PQE with a strong background in professional indemnity or professional negligence work.

• Proven experience running complex disputes independently or with limited supervision.

• Strong technical understanding of negligence principles, professional liability and insurance-backed claims.

• Experience in construction-related disputes is advantageous but not essential.

• Confident, client-facing lawyer with strong judgement and the ability to lead on strategy and delivery.
