Overview

The firm is looking to recruit an Associate to join its highly regarded Contentious Construction and Engineering Team, supporting the growth of its direct and commercial construction practice. The successful candidate will play an active role in the continued development and success of the team, working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider national and international practice.


Key Responsibilities

Based in the London office, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a prestigious and ambitious national and international construction team, contributing to the delivery of its success at a local level.

The firm's construction team advises a broad range of leading industry participants on contentious matters, including claims relating to time, cost, and defects. It provides project-based advice to assist clients in managing complex issues and avoiding disputes. Where disputes arise, the team has extensive experience across a variety of dispute resolution methods, both formal and informal. The successful candidate will gain exposure to this work and will collaborate with colleagues across the wider national practice.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • The successful candidate will have 4-7+ years' PQE with experience in Construction & Engineering commercial litigation
  • A strong academic track record is essential
  • Excellent relationship management and client handling skills are required
  • The ability to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day-to-day matters is expected
  • A team-oriented and collegiate approach, with a willingness to support colleagues and share knowledge, is important
  • An interest in business development and contributing to the strategic growth of the team is desirable
