This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious employment specialist to join a highly regarded national practice that advises a broad portfolio of corporate clients across multiple sectors. The team is recognised for delivering commercially focused, pragmatic advice and handling a wide range of complex and high-value employment matters.

The role offers strong client exposure, and genuine opportunities to shape your practice and career within a supportive national team.

The Role

You will advise predominantly employer clients on a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, while also acting for senior executives and individuals where appropriate.

Your work is likely to include:

  • Advising on complex workplace disputes and strategic HR issues
  • Providing day-to-day employment law support to corporate clients
  • Advising on disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, restructuring, and discrimination matters
  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies, handbooks, and settlement agreements
  • Supporting corporate transactions on employment-related issues
  • Advising on employment aspects of data protection and workforce management matters
  • Developing and maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Delivering seminars, training sessions, networking events, and thought leadership content
  • Playing an active role in business development and the continued growth of the Southampton practice

You will also benefit from the support, expertise, and resources of a well-established national Employment team spanning multiple offices.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 7+ years' PQE in Employment Law
  • Strong experience advising employer clients on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters
  • A proven track record managing Employment Tribunal claims through all stages of the litigation process
  • Experience advising on disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, discrimination, and workforce restructuring issues
  • Excellent drafting, research, and advisory skills
  • A pragmatic and commercially focused approach to client advice
  • Strong client relationship management and business development abilities
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within a national team

For Partner-level applicants, an existing following, referral network, or credible business case would be advantageous.

What's on Offer?

  • £70,000-£150,000 package, dependent on experience and business case
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
  • High-quality work from a diverse corporate client base
  • Genuine opportunities for progression and leadership
  • Strong support for business development and profile building
  • Ongoing investment in training and professional development
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • A collaborative and inclusive culture focused on long-term success

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Associate seeking a pathway to partnership, or for an established Partner looking to join a forward-thinking national practice with ambitious growth plans.
