This firm is known for its ethical approach, expert advocacy, and strong reputation in Court of Protection work. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a dedicated solicitor with specialist health and welfare experience to join their expanding team.


The Role: Court of Protection Solicitor (Health & Welfare)


You will manage a varied and meaningful caseload focused on health and welfare applications under the Mental Capacity Act, working closely with vulnerable clients, their families, medical professionals, and local authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing health and welfare Court of Protection matters from instruction to conclusion
  • Advising on mental capacity, best interests decisions, and deprivation of liberty
  • Preparing and issuing Court of Protection applications
  • Drafting statements, position statements, and legal submissions
  • Advocacy and attendance at Court of Protection hearings
  • Liaising with medical professionals, social workers, and family members
  • Ensuring compliance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and relevant case law
  • Contributing to the firm's reputation for compassionate, client-focused legal services

About You


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales
  • Proven experience in Court of Protection health and welfare work
  • Strong knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Experience dealing with best interests, serious medical treatment, and care disputes
  • Excellent client care skills with a sensitive and empathetic approach
  • Strong drafting, advocacy, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage your own caseload with minimal supervision
