Role Overview:
Our client is seeking a talented and passionate Technical Lead to join their team. This unique role combines technical expertise with client-facing responsibilities, offering an exciting blend of challenges and opportunities. As the Technical Lead, you will spearhead an application modernisation project within the Foreign Exchange (FX) division, transitioning from existing Java APIs and microservices on Linux and virtual machines to a state-of-the-art infrastructure using containers with Kubernetes and integrating Kafka for real-time data feeds.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the technical direction and execution of the application modernisation project within the FX domain.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy containerised applications using Kubernetes.

Oversee the integration of Kafka data feeds to enhance real-time data processing and analytics.

Ensure seamless migration of existing Java APIs and microservices to the new platform.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Liaise with stakeholders to align project goals with business objectives and ensure successful delivery.
- Please note, this is a technial role and not team managment.
Qualifications:

Extensive experience in leading technical projects, particularly in application modernisation within the financial services sector.

Strong proficiency in Java, microservices architecture, and Linux environments.

Hands-on experience with containerisation technologies such as Kubernetes.

Expertise in setting up and managing Kafka data feeds.

Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive technical teams.

Proven ability to work in a hybrid working model, balancing on-site and remote work effectively.
