Python Developer - Firmware - 12 month contract - Glasgow Hybrid (3 days onsite)
I am looking for a skilled Python Developer looking to make a significant impact for an international client based in their Glasgow offices. You will be joining a team that is central to supporting and evolving their technological backbone.
You will be designing, building, and maintaining the essential tools that streamline and support software development and deployment processes across the organisation. Your expertise will help enhance the efficiency and reliability of their development lifecycle, contributing to impactful projects that have a global reach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance tools for build automation, version control, issue tracking, continuous integration, automated testing, and deployment automation.
- Implement and manage deployment orchestration solutions using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Integrate and maintain development and deployment tools with cloud services, primarily Azure and AWS.
- Use containers and Kubernetes to support large-scale software distribution and ensure robust scalability.
- Perform system administration tasks on Linux or Windows, ensuring the stability and security of development environments.
Requirements:
- Excellent hands-on coding experience with Python and experience of Java / C# / Typescript and additional advantage
- Proven background in developing tools for software build automation, version control systems (e.g., Bitbucket, GitHub), and issue tracking platforms (e.g., Jira).
- Hands-on experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
- Strong skills in deployment orchestration using Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies.
- Experience with integrating development tools with cloud platforms, especially Azure and AWS.
- Proven experience in containerisation and managing deployments using Kubernetes.
- Solid system administration skills on either Linux or Windows.
