About this role
Probate Lawyer - Full/Part Time - Hybrid or Fully Remote Working Available
About the Firm
An innovative and fast-growing law firm, this practice is renowned for delivering high-quality legal services across multiple practice areas. With a reputation for excellence and a progressive approach, the firm has experienced significant growth in its private client work, particularly probate and estate administration. The firm's forward-thinking ethos focuses on providing flexible working arrangements and supporting its team members in delivering exceptional client service. They are now seeking a motivated Probate Lawyer to join their well-established and expanding private client team.
The Role
Due to the rapidly increasing demand for probate services, this firm is offering an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Probate Lawyer to join its growing private client department. The position is available on a full-time or part-time basis, with the flexibility of hybrid or fully remote working, depending on the candidate's preference. The role focuses primarily on probate work, with the potential to grow into other areas such as trusts and family wealth planning, depending on the successful candidate's experience and interest.
The Team
You will be joining a well-established private client team known for its expertise in handling a broad range of work, including wills, probate, lasting powers of attorney, and some Court of Protection matters. The team is collaborative, with a strong focus on delivering high standards of client care. As the firm continues to grow, particularly in the area of trusts and estate planning, there will be opportunities for further development and involvement in more specialised areas of private client law.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a personal caseload of probate matters, ensuring high-quality client service and timely case management.
- Advising clients on estate administration, with the potential to expand into wills and LPAs depending on the workload and the candidate's preference.
- Working independently with minimal supervision, yet maintaining strong communication and collaboration with the wider team.
- Contributing to the development of the private client department, including involvement in business growth initiatives.
- Training and development opportunities available in trusts, inheritance tax, and family wealth planning, should the successful candidate wish to diversify their practice.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 3 years' experience in probate work, with a strong ability to manage cases independently.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise workload efficiently.
- Proficiency in IT and case management software.
- Strong communication and client care skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional service.
- Experience in will drafting, LPAs, and trusts would be advantageous but is not essential. Training is available for those wishing to expand their expertise in these areas.
Flexible Working & Location
The firm offers maximum flexibility in working arrangements. While hybrid working (part office, part remote) is ideal, the firm is open to fully remote candidates due to the current high demand for experienced probate lawyers. Whether you prefer to work from the office or remotely, the firm's primary concern is output and client satisfaction, ensuring that quality work is delivered regardless of location.
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive salary, in line with market rates, and dependent on qualifications and experience.
- Flexible working arrangements, including full-time and part-time options, with hybrid or fully remote working available.
- Opportunity to work in a supportive and dynamic team environment, with room for career development in specialised areas like trusts and estate planning.
- Strong focus on work-life balance, with an emphasis on client care and billing quality rather than hours worked.
This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing firm with a modern approach to flexible working and a commitment to career development. If you are an experienced probate lawyer looking to take the next step in your career, I would love to hear from you!
Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
