Exciting Opportunity for a Wills and Probate Solicitor
Location: Evesham
Our client, a renowned and respected law firm, is seeking an experienced and motivated Wills and Probate Solicitor to join their expanding Private Client team at their Evesham office. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled fee earner to work within a highly regarded firm, delivering expert legal services and advancing their career in a supportive and professional environment.
About the Role:
As part of this growing team, you will manage a wide range of Wills, Probate, and Private Client matters, working with clients to provide high-quality legal advice and support. Key responsibilities include:
Probate:
- Handling the complete administration of estates from start to finish.
- Preparing and applying for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration.
- Managing tax forms related to Inheritance Tax, Income Tax, and Capital Gains Tax, and providing expert advice.
- Collecting assets, settling liabilities, distributing estates, and preparing income and distribution accounts.
- Advising on Tax mitigation and Deeds of Variation, including their implementation.
Wills:
- Taking client instructions, assessing capacity where required, and drafting Wills.
- Providing comprehensive advice on Inheritance Tax, Income Tax, and Capital Gains Tax.
- Preparing, attesting, and where necessary, applying for Statutory Wills.
Trusts and Tax:
- Advising on the creation and administration of Trusts.
- Providing guidance on tax mitigation strategies and drafting Trust documents.
Powers of Attorney/Lasting Powers of Attorney:
- Advising clients on Lasting Powers of Attorney, assessing capacity, and drafting Powers of Attorney.
- Managing the registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney and acting as Certificate Provider when required.
Elderly Client Services:
- Managing the financial affairs of elderly clients, including asset management and bill payments.
- Providing advice on social care, DSS benefits, and CHC funding.
Court of Protection:
- Making Deputy applications to the Court of Protection and managing the formalities of Court Orders.
- Preparing accounts for the Court and handling the affairs of clients under the Court's jurisdiction.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A qualified solicitor or fee earner with a minimum of 4 years PQE.
- SFE and STEP membership would be highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in business development with a focus on client relationships and growth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to client care and delivering a high standard of service.
