The Opportunity:
An exciting opening has arisen for a talented and ambitious Private Client Solicitor with 1-3 years PQE to join a thriving and supportive team. This role offers exposure to a wide variety of sophisticated private client work, including advising international clients, and provides excellent mentoring from a senior private client partner. It is ideal for a solicitor seeking to deepen their expertise and contribute to a well-established, successful department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing a varied caseload of private client matters including:
  • Estate Planning: drafting bespoke wills, advising on inheritance tax planning, and dealing with foreign assets and complex family structures.
  • Probate and Estate Administration: handling complex, high-value probate matters including cross-border estates.
  • Taxation: advising on UK income tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax, with a focus on international client issues.
  • Trusts: advising on trust creation, administration, and trustee duties.
  • Powers of Attorney: drafting and advising on LPAs and general powers of attorney.
  • International Client Work: advising non-resident and HNW clients on UK succession, tax, and asset management under supervision.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships through direct client contact and meetings.
• Drafting clear, accurate, and bespoke legal documents.
• Collaborating closely with colleagues to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
• Actively participating in business development and marketing initiatives to support department growth.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 1-3 years PQE in private client law at a reputable firm.
• Proven experience advising high-net-worth individuals across a broad range of private client matters.
• Experience or understanding of international client issues highly desirable.
• Strong commercial awareness and excellent drafting skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and client management skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Strong academic background (minimum 2:1 law degree or equivalent).
• Enthusiasm for business development and contributing to the team's growth.
• STEP qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
