The Firm:

Work The Team Does:
Includes advising on the day-to-day management of trust-based occupational pension schemes and pension disputes, to the complexities of public sector pension schemes and pension issues around corporate acquisitions and restructurings.

  • The setting up and day-to-day running of trust-based occupational pension schemes, life assurance schemes, and private healthcare trusts, including regulatory, compliance, and operational matters
  • Issues arising from participation in, and managing, the main public service pension schemes
  • Transactions and projects, including the pensions aspects of acquisitions/disposals and restructurings
  • The legal aspects of investment matters and scheme funding, including buy-ins and buy-outs

The Role:
This opportunity will be within a specialist team that focus on pensions work - ideally they are looking for someone to join with financial services experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • advise multiple stakeholders, including employers, trustees, insurers, and consultant clients on all aspects of pension law and practice.
  • Mentor and supervise junior team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with substantial post-qualification experience in pensions law, already a partner or working at the Senior Associate or Legal Director level and looking to step up.
  • Strong client management skills with the ability to provide commercially astute advice.
  • Demonstrated track record in business development and client acquisition.
