Java Software Engineer - Python - Glasgow - Hybrid (3 days onsite)

I'm working with a well known client in Glasgow looking for an experienced Java Developer to join their team.

You'll play a key role in developing and maintaining tools that support their internal applications and services team, particulary their inhouse Application Delivery Controller (ADC) and DNS/DHCP platforms.

Working in an Agile squad with a DevOps mindset, you'll help build scalable, automated solutions using Java and Python, contribute to Infrastructure as Code initiatives, and work with engineering and operations teams to drive platform adoption.

What you'll do:

• Build and enhance tools for a large-scale application delivery platform
• Automate deployment processes and infrastructure provisioning
• Work closely with stakeholders across the business to integrate services and improve performance
• Support key areas of the business including cloud-based hosting and low-latency environments

What we're looking for:

• Strong Java development skills (Python a bonus)
• Solid understanding of networking and Linux system fundamentals
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins)
• An automation-first approach and passion for improving operational efficiency

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with load-balancer or DNS/DHCP technologies (e.g., F5, Infoblox)
• Exposure to API gateways or REST/SOAP API development
