Employment Solicitor - UK & International Employment Law
Job description
Join one of the top international law firms renowned for its market-leading expertise and complex cross-border work. They are seeking a highly academic and ambitious Employment Associate to join their dynamic team. This role is perfect for candidates from diverse backgrounds who demonstrate strong technical ability, intellectual rigor, and drive.
In this role, you'll advise UK and international clients on high-value, sensitive employment matters, including tribunal claims, senior grievances, settlement agreements, and day-to-day people risk issues. You'll also handle regulated people matters in financial services, SMCR, remuneration, and employment issues arising from regulatory investigations.
Your Day-to-Day Will Include:
- Advising clients on complex employment law issues, balancing commercial objectives with legal risk.
- Managing tribunal claims, senior grievances, settlement agreements, and other sensitive disputes.
- Handling employment aspects of regulated financial services clients, including SMCR and remuneration matters.
- Working on multi-jurisdictional projects and helping implement workplace policies and practices across global clients.
- Collaborating closely with partners, senior associates, and other teams to deliver excellent client service.
About you
This role is well suited to someone whose career choices have been driven by intellectual curiosity and a desire to work on complex, high-quality employment matters. Rather than your previous experience, you're motivated by the substance of the work, the quality of the advice you deliver, and the opportunity to keep learning. You will need to be academically strong, naturally inquisitive, and keen to challenge yourself in a demanding environment. You also take pride in producing thoughtful, well-reasoned work and are ambitious about building a long-term career within a team that values ability, drive, and potential over background alone.
Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor specialising in employment law, recognised for the quality and consistency of their work.
- Strong technical expertise, particularly in advising on high-value and sensitive employment issues.
- Excellent communication skills and a focus on delivering practical, commercial advice to clients.
- Highly ambitious, with a strong academic background and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Commercially minded and interested in contributing to business development activities.
