A leading UK law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Senior Associate to join its highly regarded Employment team based in Reading.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a top-ranked practice that advises a diverse portfolio of national and international clients across the public, private, and third sectors. The team is recognised for its technical excellence and handles a broad range of complex and high-profile employment matters, providing exposure to exceptional quality work and genuine opportunities for career progression.
Working as part of a wider regional Employment group, you will collaborate with colleagues across multiple offices while building strong client relationships and developing your specialist expertise within a supportive and ambitious environment.
The Role
You will advise predominantly employer clients on a wide range of employment law issues, supporting organisations across a variety of sectors, including commercial businesses, public sector bodies, healthcare organisations, and charities.
Your workload is likely to include:
- Advising on a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters
- Managing Employment Tribunal claims and workplace disputes
- Providing day-to-day HR and employment law support to clients
- Advising on restructures, redundancies, disciplinary and grievance matters
- Supporting corporate transactions and business reorganisations
- Delivering employment law training, seminars, and webinars
- Drafting articles, thought leadership content, and client guidance materials
- Playing an active role in business development and networking initiatives
- Assisting with the supervision and development of junior lawyers
You will also benefit from working alongside specialists across complementary practice areas, enabling you to provide clients with a fully integrated service.
About You
The successful candidate is likely to possess:
- Significant post-qualification experience in Employment Law, ideally at Senior Associate level
- Strong technical expertise across both contentious and non-contentious matters
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills
- A pragmatic and commercial approach to problem solving
- Strong analytical and legal research capabilities
- Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills
- Experience contributing to business development and practice growth
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage matters independently
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to team success
- Confidence mentoring and supporting more junior colleagues
