About this role
Magic Circle Law Firm
Dispute Resolution and Investigations
Associate 2-5PQE
London
This Magic Circle law firm advises on high-profile and groundbreaking transactions and disputes around the world. The majority of the firm's work is complex, high-profile, and multi-jurisdictional. Clients include governments, entrepreneurs, funds, leading banks, retailers, entertainment companies, industrial conglomerates, and even Premier League football clubs. They are trusted advisers to the largest UK and global public companies and act for more FTSE 350 companies than any other law firm.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate to join the firm's highly regarded London-based Disputes and Investigations team. The firm's Disputes and Investigations practice is led by 17 partners and currently has 79 associates and 31 trainees. As an associate, you will potentially work with any of the partners in the DR group and also those from elsewhere, allowing you to see a wide range of working styles and strategic approaches. The work involves High Court matters, regulatory and prosecutorial investigations, domestic and international arbitrations, formal inquiries, and cross-border disputes.
As part of the role, you can expect to be:
- Advising on the legal and commercial aspects of a wide range of commercial and financial disputes.
- Advising on a wide range of commercial and financial litigation, including cross-border disputes.
- Advising on a wide range of commercial and financial arbitrations.
- Advising on legal and commercial aspects of a wide range of investigations and enforcement actions brought by regulators.
- Developing professional relationships with clients and potential clients.
- Supporting the wider team in developing business and raising the profile of the firm.
- Managing/supervising the work of others including trainees.
- Providing effective support for partners.
The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years PQE gained at a Tier 1 Disputes & Investigations practice in London, with broad exposure to complex, high value disputes and investigations, and previous experience giving dispute resolution advice in a strategic context. You will also have a strong academic background and a high level of intellectual rigour.
Please apply as directed or confidentially contact Aidan McAvinue at Search Legal for more information. Alternatively, if this role is not for you, I am working a variety of other litigation opportunities with ranked teams in the City of London so would be interested to talk to any litigation lawyer.
Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
