Commercial Manager - Category Manager - End User Computing - public sector - London (Hybrid) - SC Clearance

I am looking for an experienced Category Manager / Commercial Manager to join our public sector client's commercial team in London. This is a pivotal role responsible for shaping and delivering category strategies within End User Computing (EUC), ensuring value for money and compliance with public procurement regulations.

Due to the urgency and nature of the role, candidates with active SC clearance would be preferred.

You will lead a team of up to five professionals, driving excellence across the full procurement lifecycle-from pre-procurement planning to contract management of multi-million-pound agreements with leading technology vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies for End User Computing solutions
• Lead pre-procurement activities, including requirements gathering, market analysis, and stakeholder engagement
• Produce robust business cases and ensure alignment with organisational objectives
• Manage commercial negotiations and oversee complex, high-value contracts
• Provide market insight to inform decision-making and identify innovation opportunities
• Ensure compliance with public sector procurement regulations and governance
• Lead and mentor a team of up to five, fostering a cooperative and high-performing environment

Essential Experience

• Strong background in commercial/category management within End User Computing, within the public sector
• Experience managing multi-million-pound technology contracts with diverse vendors
• Experience in pre-procurement planning, requirement building, and strategy development
• Skilled in writing business cases and delivering value-driven outcomes
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
