About this role

A highly regarded South East law firm is seeking an ambitious Employment Solicitor or Associate (2-5 PQE) to join its growing Employment team in Guildford.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected practice known for delivering pragmatic, commercially focused employment law advice to both employers and senior executives. The team advises a diverse range of clients, including SMEs, larger corporate organisations, owner-managed businesses, and high-net-worth individuals across a variety of sectors.

You'll work alongside experienced employment specialists on a broad range of complex and high-quality matters while developing your own expertise, client relationships, and professional profile.

The Role

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters while supporting senior lawyers on more complex and high-value instructions.

Your work is likely to include:

  • Advising employers and senior executives on a wide range of employment law issues
  • Employment Tribunal litigation and dispute resolution
  • HR advisory and day-to-day employment support
  • Settlement agreements and employment terminations
  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, handbooks, and workplace policies
  • TUPE matters, business restructures, and workforce change projects
  • Discrimination, whistleblowing, and restrictive covenant disputes
  • Supporting corporate transactions from an employment law perspective
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Delivering client seminars, workshops, and employment law updates

Working closely with colleagues across the wider business services division, you will gain excellent exposure to a broad client base and a wide variety of employment law issues.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2-5 years' PQE in Employment Law
  • Experience advising on a mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
  • The ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues
  • A commercially focused and pragmatic approach to legal advice
  • Strong organisational and case management skills
  • An interest in business development and networking activities
  • A collaborative mindset and genuine commitment to excellent client service

Candidates operating at Associate level, or ready to make the step up, are also encouraged to apply.

What's on Offer?

  • £55,000-£75,000 salary, depending on experience
  • Performance-related bonus
  • High-quality work across a broad and varied client base
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
  • Clear opportunities for career progression
  • Ongoing professional development and mentoring
  • A supportive and collaborative team culture
  • Comprehensive benefits package

This is an exciting opportunity for an Employment Solicitor looking to join a well-established team that combines technical excellence with a genuinely people-focused approach.
