Private Client Solicitor / Fee Earner
Location: Chelmsford or Leigh-on-Sea
Hours: Monday - Friday | 9:00am - 5:30pm
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

A well-established, family-run law firm with a modern, commercial approach is looking for an experienced Private Client Solicitor (2+ years PQE) or Fee Earner with equivalent experience to join their growing team. Known for delivering high-quality legal services to individuals and businesses, this firm takes pride in offering a first-class client experience.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy Private Client department, working closely with the Head of Department and handling a varied caseload with autonomy and support. The successful candidate will provide expert, client-focused legal advice while helping to maintain the firm's strong reputation and contribute to its continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Handling estate administration, trusts, and tax matters
- Managing Court of Protection cases
- Developing relationships with clients and professional referrers
- Working to team targets and KPIs
- Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to marketing efforts
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be confident, highly organised, and committed to delivering excellent client care. They will enjoy working in a collaborative team environment and have a genuine interest in growing their legal career.
Key qualities include:
- 2+ years PQE or equivalent private client experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and legal software
- Client-focused and professional in approach
- Willingness to learn and progress
- A team player who takes pride in their work
A STEP qualification (or progress towards it) is desirable but not essential.
