Interim Programme Director - £170m+ Cloud Transformation

Are you an elite Programme Director with a proven track record of delivering sovereign, large-scale Cloud Migration within secure government environments?

A critical UK Government programme is seeking an authoritative and astute Interim Programme Director to lead a £170m+ multi-year transformation to replace an IT service for over 13,000 users with a modern, cloud-first platform.

This is a high-visibility, dual-priority role: you must "protect today while building for tomorrow." Service continuity during migration is non-negotiable.

The Role Will Involve:

• Accountability for Delivery: Owning the entire programme lifecycle, including schedule, risk posture, cost, and scope, with joint reporting to the SRO and Service Director.

• Supplier & Service Integration: Orchestrating a complex multi-supplier ecosystem within a hybrid SIAM model to ensure seamless delivery and RUN protection.

• Technical & Architectural Authority: Working closely with the CTO/CISO to ensure coherent, accredited designs and enforcing non-functional security requirements.

• Governance & Stakeholder Management: Maintaining authoritative communication and running governance rhythms aligned with critical funding releases and cross-government stakeholders.

Essential Experience (SCS1/SCS2 Level):

• 15+ years leading large-scale IT transformation programmes (e.g., £100m+).

• Deep expertise in Cloud Migration (Azure, AWS, GCP, sovereign cloud) and managing legacy-to-cloud transitions (dual-run complexity).

• Mandatory experience delivering in secure or regulated government/defence environments.

• Exceptional programme controls, SIAM-style integration, and strong technical understanding (FinOps, Zero-Trust, Migration planning).
