Position Available: Manufacturing Test Engineer
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (DoE) + Bonus
Experience needed: We're looking for a hands-on Test Engineer with strong experience in electrical/electronic testing and diagnostics across complex sub-systems. Ideal candidates will have a background in manufacturing test environments and a solid understanding of electronic fault diagnosis techniques.
About the role:
An exciting opportunity has opened to join our Manufacturing team as a Manufacturing Test Engineer, supporting the test and diagnostic activities for electrical and electronic sub-systems throughout all phases of the product lifecycle.
You'll play a critical role in ensuring product quality and reliability by providing test engineering support from initial design and development through to production release. Working within a small, skilled team, you'll contribute to testing strategy, facility readiness, and root cause analysis of test failures-helping deliver high-quality products on time and to specification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Test Engineering support during Design, Development, and Production phases
- Diagnose test failures on electronic sub-assemblies and circuit cards down to component level
- Support the introduction and configuration control of new test facilities and equipment
- Generate test specifications, operator instructions, and technical reports
- Collaborate with Design, Operations, and wider Engineering teams to resolve technical issues
- Ensure compliance with quality and programme requirements, while promoting continuous improvement
- Operate both manual and automated test equipment to support production testing
What we need from you:
- HNC or higher in a relevant subject (HND/Degree preferred), with experience in digital and analogue electronics testing
- Strong knowledge of electrical/electronic measurement principles and fault diagnosis
- Hands-on experience with both manual and automated test equipment
- Familiarity with ERP and MES systems (e.g., SAP, MES) for recording test activities and managing non-conformances
