Windows 11 Migration Application Packaging Specialist required for a 3 month initial contract. Please note this role is Inside IR35 and offered on an Umbrella only basis.

Our client are undertaking a migration from Windows 10 to Windows 11 across their organisation, which includes transitioning application management from Configuration Manager to Microsoft Intune. As part of this migration, they have developed PowerShell on-boarding scripts to deploy App-V applications to the App-V client on devices. Note that the Windows 11 desktops are not co-managed, and application migration follows a defined process to configure and upload.

We're looking for a specialist to support the Windows 11 migration project, focusing on application packaging and deployment through Microsoft Intune.

Key Responsibilities

• App-V Migration Support: Assist with migrating App-V applications from Configuration Manager to Intune, working with our existing PowerShell on-boarding scripts
• Win32 Application Packaging: Create .intunewin packages using the Microsoft Win32 Content Prep Tool for application deployment via Intune
• Application Configuration: Define appropriate installation parameters, detection methods, and dependencies for applications being migrated to Intune
• Scripting for Deployment: Develop and optimize PowerShell, batch, or PSADT scripts to handle complex installation scenarios and ensure silent deployments
• Migration Automation: Potentially implement tools like the Win32App Migration Tool to streamline the application migration process from ConfigMgr to Intune

Required Skills

• Microsoft Intune: Strong experience with Intune application deployment and management, particularly with Win32 app packaging workflows
• App-V Knowledge: Experience with App-V application virtualisation technologies
• PowerShell Scripting: Advanced PowerShell scripting capabilities for application deployment automation
• Application Packaging: Experience creating .intunewin packages and configuring proper detection methods
• Windows 11 Deployment: Understanding of Windows 11 deployment considerations and requirements
• Direct-to-Cloud Migration: Experience transitioning applications directly to cloud-based Intune management without co-management

Preferred Experience

• Previous involvement in Windows 10 to Windows 11 migration projects
• Experience with defined application migration processes for Intune
• Familiarity with application detection methods and requirements filtering in Intune
• Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin centre
