Role Overview:
As a Software & Licensing Technical Pre-Sales Consultant, you will play a crucial role in leading technical engagements with customers, to shape technical solutions acting as a trusted advisor across the software lifecycle and delivering impactful workshops and consultative engagements. You will bridge the gap between our technical capabilities and customer needs, ensuring that our solutions align with their licensing challenges and business objectives. This role requires a strong mix of knowledge across our key vendors (IBM & Red Hat) software ecosystems, pre-sales experience, and the ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead customer-facing technical engagements, including discovery sessions, workshops, and demonstrations.
* Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor in our key vendor software ecosystems. * Translate customer business requirements into technical solutions, leveraging our key vendor software capabilities.
* Own the development and evolution of the software & licensing services, such as software asset management services roadmap, ensuring alignment with industry trends and customer demand.
* Partner with sales, marketing, and product teams to create compelling technical content and solution presentations. * Deliver high-impact presentations and storytelling to articulate the value proposition of our software and licensing services.
* Stay updated on emerging software licensing models, vendor changes, and best practices to inform solution development and customer recommendations.
* Support RFP/RFI responses, technical proposal creation, and solution design discussions.
Experience:
* Key Vendor Software Expertise: Strong understanding of our key vendor software ecosystems - licensing models, product capabilities, interoperability, and strategic positioning.
* Pre-Sales & Consulting Experience: Proven experience in a pre-sales, solution consulting, or technical advisory role within software asset management.
* Architecture & Solution Design: Background in software or enterprise architecture with the ability to consult on solutions that span infrastructure, middleware, and business applications will be of benefit but is not a requirement.
* Storytelling & Presentation Skills: Ability to translate complex licensing concepts into compelling narratives for executives and technical stakeholders.
* Growth Mindset: A proactive, self-starter attitude with a passion for learning, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Customer Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and establish trust with customers at all levels.
