Overview
A leading U.S. law firm with a strong London presence is seeking a Senior Tax Lawyer to join the London team as either a Senior Associate or Counsel, depending on experience. This is a direct requirement, reflecting the team's growing pipeline of complex, cross-border transactional work. The successful candidate will be UK-qualified with at least 7 years' PQE, ideally gained at a leading US or Magic Circle firm.

Role & Responsibilities
This is a transactional-only role (no disputes) advising across all practice areas, with a strong focus on finance-related transactions. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in London, Europe, and New York on a variety of complex, multi-jurisdictional matters, including:

• Financial Restructuring - Cross-border restructuring transactions.

• Credit Funds & Structured Finance - Structured credit, securitisation, and leveraged finance.

• Joint Ventures & Corporate Transactions - Joint venture structures and other corporate arrangements.

• Pan-European & Transatlantic Transactions - Collaboration with New York on cross-border mandates.

This is a busy, high-performing team with typical annual billables around 2,000 hours. Candidates should bring strong technical ability, interpersonal skills, and a collaborative mindset, as character and cultural fit are highly valued.

Requirements

• UK-qualified lawyer with 7+ PQE in tax law from a leading US, Magic Circle, or top-tier international firm.

• Significant experience in finance-heavy transactional tax work, including restructuring, leveraged finance, securitisation, and structured credit.

• Comfortable on complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions and collaborating across offices and practice areas.

• Excellent technical and analytical skills, with the ability to manage a busy workload under pressure.

• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
