The Firm

This is a well-established London-based boutique law firm with a strong and longstanding reputation for the quality of its advisory and contentious work, its commercial approach, and its ability to act as trusted advisers to senior business leaders.

The Role

The firm is seeking a Senior Employment Associate to join its London employment practice. This is a key role within the team, offering significant exposure to complex, high-value matters and close client contact.

You will work on a broad mix of advisory and contentious employment work, including:

  • Advising employers and senior individuals on day-to-day employment law issues
  • Managing and running Employment Tribunal litigation, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, and restrictive covenant claims
  • Drafting and negotiating senior-level employment contracts, settlement agreements, and policies
  • Advising on executive exits, restructurings, redundancy programmes, and TUPE
  • Supporting corporate transactions with employment law advice on acquisitions, disposals, and reorganisations
  • Providing strategic employment advice to boards, HR teams, and senior management
  • Playing an active role in business development, client relationship management, and mentoring junior lawyers

There is real scope for progression, with the expectation that the successful candidate will take increasing responsibility for matters, clients, and team development.

Client Base

The role offers exposure to a high-quality and diverse client portfolio, which includes:

  • UK and international corporates
  • Owner-managed businesses and growing SMEs
  • Senior executives, partners, and C-suite individuals
  • Financial services, professional services, technology, media etc.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 4+ years' PQE gained within a recognised employment law practice
  • Strong experience in respondent work across both contentious and non-contentious employment matters
  • A solid track record of running Tribunal litigation with appropriate supervision
  • Confidence advising clients directly and managing matters autonomously
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and technical skills
