Security Architect - 12 month contract - Public Sector - SC Clearance

I am looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Security Architect to take the lead in designing secure, scalable solutions that support the evolving technical landscape for our government client.

Due to the nature and urgency of the role, candidates with active SC clearance would be preferred.

You will be involved in

• Design and review secure architectures for systems, services, and infrastructure
• Identify potential security risks early and propose effective, practical solutions
• Work closely with engineering and infrastructure teams to embed security into design and delivery processes
• Translate complex security concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Contribute to setting security standards and ensuring best practices are followed throughout the organisation

I am therefore keen to speak with candidates who have

• Strong background in designing and implementing secure systems at scale
• Experience of working in the public sector / government would be preferred
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• A clear understanding of modern security principles, risks, and mitigations
• Ability to balance business needs with technical security requirements
• Experience influencing architectural decisions and driving secure-by-design approaches
• Solid experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS
• Familiarity with databases like MongoDB and PostgreSQL
• Understanding of encryption, identity management, and secure data handling
