A highly regarded, long established regional law firm is seeking an experienced Residential Property Partner to lead its Residential Property team based in Lewes, East Sussex. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a driven residential property solicitor with a strong track record in high‑value conveyancing and team management.

Residential Property Partner - The Opportunity

This position offers the opportunity to take responsibility for the operational and strategic leadership of the Residential Property team in Lewes, while working closely with colleagues across other offices.

You will act as Head of the Lewes Residential Property team, managing a high‑quality caseload alongside leading, mentoring, and developing a team of residential property lawyers.

The work is sophisticated and varied, involving high‑value residential property transactions, including listed and period properties, country estates, and complex residential portfolios.


Residential Property Partner - Key Responsibilities

Fee‑Earning & Client Work

  • Managing a broad residential property caseload including:
    • Sales and purchases
    • Remortgages and refinancing
    • Transfers of equity
    • Equity release
    • New leases and lease extensions
    • Complex residential property advice
  • Delivering clear, commercially focused advice to high‑net‑worth individuals, estates, developers, and portfolio owners
  • Overseeing complex conveyancing matters from instruction through to completion
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, agents, lenders, and professional contacts
  • Staying up to date with residential property law, regulation, and market trends

Leadership & Management

  • Leading and developing the Lewes Residential Property team
  • Supervising, mentoring, and supporting team members
  • Conducting performance reviews and regular one‑to‑one meetings
  • Reviewing and improving working practices, workflows, and efficiencies
  • Supporting business development and cross department collaboration
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance, risk management, and best practice standards

About You - Residential Property Partner Requirements

This Residential Property Partner role in Lewes will suit a senior lawyer with strong leadership capability. You will have:

  • At least 8 years' PQE in Residential Property law
  • Significant experience handling complex and high‑value residential conveyancing matters
  • Prior experience managing or supervising a team
  • Excellent client care skills and strong commercial awareness
  • A proactive, solutions focused mindset
  • The confidence to lead both strategically and operationally
