Residential Lawyer

A well-established regional law firm with offices in Essex and London is seeking an experienced Residential Lawyer to join its Brentwood team. Recognised for its high standards and client-focused approach, the firm holds CQS accreditation and handles a broad mix of residential property transactions. This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive and progressive environment, with strong prospects for professional development.
The Role
The successful candidate will join a collaborative and high-performing residential property department, managing a broad caseload with appropriate supervision. The role involves handling transactions from instruction to post-completion and contributing to the team's ongoing success through client service and business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing residential conveyancing transactions including:
- Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- New build acquisitions
- High-value and complex property matters
- Auction transactions
- Remortgages, shared ownership, Help to Buy
- Transfers of equity and personal guarantees
- Ensuring files are progressed efficiently and in line with compliance requirements
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Participating in marketing, networking, and business development activities
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 4 years' experience in residential property law preferred (less experienced candidates with the right skills and potential may also be considered)
- Sound technical knowledge of residential conveyancing procedures
- Ability to manage files independently with excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and client care focus
- Commercial awareness and a proactive, solution-oriented approach
- Confident in developing business and contributing to the firm's growth
