A well-regarded law firm in Essex is looking to appoint a talented and ambitious Private Client Lawyer to join its established team in Hornchurch. The Private Client department holds a Legal 500 (2022) ranking and is known for its strong and growing reputation in the region. The team includes members of STEP and The Lifetime Lawyers Association and is recognised for delivering high-quality legal services with a client-focused approach. The Role
The successful candidate will join a highly experienced team and manage a broad and varied caseload of private client work. The role involves advising clients on a full range of matters, including:

  • Wills and estate planning
  • Probate and estate administration
  • Trust creation and administration
  • Inheritance tax planning and asset protection
  • Powers of attorney
  • Court of Protection applications

The role will also include involvement in marketing and business development initiatives to support the continued growth of the team.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of private client matters with appropriate supervision
  • Deliver clear, practical advice to clients at all levels
  • Maintain and develop strong client relationships
  • Participate in business development, marketing, and networking activities
  • Ensure high levels of client care and service delivery
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments


Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (ideally 3+ years PQE)
  • Solid experience in a wide range of Private Client matters
  • STEP qualification or currently working towards (desirable)
  • Excellent technical and legal knowledge
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload efficiently and with minimal supervision
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Confidence in developing client relationships and participating in business development
