Band 1 Leading Law Firm | Mid-Level Employment Associate

An opportunity to step into the heart of one of the legal sector's most respected global platforms. This is a chance to join a firm known for its top‑tier advisory work, complex cross‑border matters and handling the types of issues and internal mandates usually reserved for external counsel. The work is strategic, fast‑moving and genuinely impactful.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll act as a specialist employment adviser inside a global machine. Expect to work on matters that are complex, sensitive and often international in scope.

Core remit

  • Advising HR and senior leadership on contentious & non‑contentious UK and international employment issues.
  • Managing internal contentious matters, including investigations and tribunal‑related strategy.
  • Supporting employment aspects of global projects, restructurings and people‑related change initiatives.
  • Shaping policy: drafting, refining and modernising contracts, procedures, frameworks and governance.
  • Collaborating with internal privacy, compliance, procurement and other legal specialists on multi‑disciplinary issues.
  • Designing and delivering training to Partners and business leaders on emerging legal and ER risks.
  • Continually reviewing and improving ER processes and documentation.

Who You'll Be Working With

You'll have a sophisticated internal client base including:

  • Global HR leadership and senior ER specialists
  • Partners and business heads across multiple regions
  • In‑house legal teams (data protection, compliance, regulatory, risk)

Requirements

  • 4+ PQE UK qualified employment lawyer (in‑house experience or strong in‑house exposure from private practice).
  • A track record across advisory, transactional and contentious work.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive matters discreetly and navigate high‑stakes situations.
