Java Developer - 12 month contract (inside IR35) - multiple offices across North England - Hybrid (3 days onsite)

I have an urgent requirement for a number of Java Developers to join a Digital Transformation project, based from either Leeds / Manchester / Newcastle. Flexibility to work 3 days onsite is expected.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain services with Java 21+
• Design and scale microservices and APIs
• Apply TDD/BDD and automated testing
• Work in Agile teams with pair programming
• Support applications (including occasional out-of-hours)

Essential skills:

• Strong Java (21+) experience
• TDD/BDD and Agile background
• Large-scale microservices expertise
• API development and integration
• Unix/Linux knowledge

Desirable skills:

• Jackson, JAX-RS, Mockito, Kafka or ActiveMQ
• MongoDB/NoSQL databases
• High-traffic and large data systems experience

Due to the nature of the project, BPSS vetting is required with eligibility to achieve UK SC clearance expected.
