SC Cleared Java Backend Developer | Kafka & IBM MQ Migration | Government Client | Remote | £525/day (Inside IR35)

We are urgently seeking a highly skilled SC Cleared Java Backend Developer to join a critical project with a high-profile Government Client.

This is a key technical role focusing on a vital component of the client's technology landscape: migrating a legacy message queueing system to a modern, scalable platform.

🔑 Key Requirements & Scope:

The core objective of this role is to replace the existing IBM MQ Series with Kafka across the platform. We are therefore looking for a rare and specific combination of skills:

• Deep expertise in Java (Backend Development).

• Strong, hands-on experience with Kafka (implementation, configuration, and integration).

• Essential knowledge of IBM MQ Series (or similar legacy messaging systems) to facilitate a seamless transition and integration.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver solutions to high government standards.

Essential Criteria:

• Active SC (Security Check) Clearance is mandatory.

• Strong commercial experience with Java Backend Development.

• Proven experience with Kafka and IBM MQ Series migration projects.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
