Henderson Scott Finance & Accounting have partnered with a successful SME manufacturing business in Greater Manchester to appoint a high-calibre, commercially astute Head of Finance.

Following a recent finance team restructure, this newly created role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional to step in as a key number two to the CFO. You'll play a central role in strengthening the finance function, driving performance, and supporting strategic decision-making in a growing and fast-paced environment.

We are hiring a qualified candidate who has experience within manufacturing and ideally a few years post qualified experience. You'll manage a small team providing support on month end duties, whilst also implementing key commercial processes in parallel with the CFO.

You'll have complete autonomy and ample opportunity to grow alongside the business and take on more responsibility as you progress with the role to a FD. Supported by an exceptional manager who will be your mentor throughout.

Responsibilities:

• Direct influence on commercial decision-making and financial strategy
• Strategic approach working alongside with the CFO
• Be part of a business scaling up with real investment in finance
• Business partnering with various heads of business
• Manage a small finance function operationally
• Own processes, lead improvements, and shape the finance functions
• Provide sound commercial input to drive growth within the business
• Lead budgeting & forecasting cycles and business partnering

Candidate Profile:

• A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
• Commercially minded, with strong negotiation and influencing skills
• An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing
• Career-driven, eager to grow into senior leadership
• Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities
• A confident leader and people manager, able to motivate and develop teams
