Residential Conveyancing | Department Leadership | Strategic Growth Opportunity

A highly regarded and growing Sussex law firm is seeking an experienced Residential Property Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Legal Executive to lead its Residential Property department in Lewes.

This is an exciting opportunity for an established senior conveyancer looking to step into a leadership role, or an existing Head of Department seeking a fresh challenge within a progressive and ambitious firm.

The successful candidate will join a firm with a strong reputation in the local market, an established client base and a clear vision for future growth.


The Role

You will oversee a successful Residential Property team while continuing to handle a manageable caseload of quality conveyancing work.

This position combines fee earning with leadership responsibilities, offering the opportunity to influence the direction of the department, mentor colleagues and play a key role in the firm's continued growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied residential conveyancing caseload
  • Leading and supporting members of the Residential Property team
  • Driving departmental growth and business development initiatives
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients and referrers
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of the department
  • Ensuring excellent standards of client service and risk management

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Chartered Legal Executive
  • Significant experience in residential conveyancing
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience would be advantageous
  • Strong client relationship and business development skills
  • Commercial awareness and a collaborative leadership style
  • Desire to play a key role in the long-term success of a growing team
