About this role
Family Solicitor - Legal 500 Law Firm
Location: Marlow, Buckinghamshire
Position: Full-Time
Experience: NQ - 5PQE
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
A well-regarded regional law firm is seeking a talented and compassionate Family Solicitor to join its established and Legal 500-recognised Family & Divorce team. This opportunity offers high-quality work, excellent support, and the chance to join a collaborative and expert-led department.
About the Team
The firm's specialist family and divorce lawyers are known for their empathetic and solution-focused approach, regularly handling a broad range of family matters-from cohabitation and pre-nuptial agreements to complex divorces and disputes concerning children and finances.
Clients benefit from a firm-wide collaborative ethos, with cross-departmental support on property, commercial, and private client issues that may impact financial settlements or wider family needs.
Team Strength and Recognition
The team includes solicitors accredited by Resolution and the Law Society's Family Law Accreditation Scheme, and several members are ranked in Legal 500 and Chambers UK. The group also includes trained mediators and collaborative lawyers, reflecting the firm's commitment to constructive resolution wherever possible.
The team is led by experienced family law professionals, including:
- A head of department who regularly deals with high-conflict personalities, child-inclusive mediation, and both pre-relationship and post-separation matters.
- A specialist in complex, high-net-worth matrimonial finance cases, including intervenor matters.
- A practitioner with strong experience in urgent Children Act applications involving safeguarding and domestic abuse.
The Role
The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of private family law matters, such as:
- Divorce and civil partnership dissolution
- Financial remedy cases, including those involving business assets or trusts
- Private law children matters and arrangements
- Pre-nuptial, post-nuptial and cohabitation agreements
- Urgent applications relating to domestic abuse (depending on experience)
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor / Legal Executive with experience in Family law
- Confident managing a caseload independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent client care, communication, and interpersonal skills
- A constructive, empathetic approach aligned with Resolution principles
- A genuine interest in business development and building client relationships
Benefits Include:
- High-quality work within a respected, ranked family team
- Flexible and hybrid working arrangements
- Supportive environment with clear career progression
- Opportunities to work with a diverse and valued client base
This is a standout opportunity for a Family Solicitor seeking meaningful work in a firm that values collaboration, expertise, and professional development.
