Overview
Henderson Scott is working with a long-established and reputable law firm in Greater London to recruit an experienced Family Solicitor with significant expertise in care proceedings and public children law. This role is ideal for a solicitor who holds Children Panel Accreditation, or is well on their way to achieving it.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a committed team handling a high volume of publicly funded children work, with excellent administrative support and genuine progression opportunities.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a busy caseload of public law children matters, including care and supervision proceedings
  • Represent children, parents, and guardians in Family Court
  • Work closely with CAFCASS, local authorities, and expert witnesses
  • Prepare legal aid applications and maintain compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements
  • Provide clear, sensitive legal advice to vulnerable clients
  • Contribute to team development and supervise junior staff where appropriate


Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor in Family Law
  • Children Panel Accreditation (essential or nearing completion)
  • Strong experience in care proceedings and child protection matters
  • Advocacy experience in the Family Court
  • Familiarity with legal aid processes and billing
  • Excellent client care and communication skills, particularly with vulnerable individuals
