A boutique, Legal 500-ranked firm is seeking a 6+ PQE Family Lawyer to step into a Head of Department position in its Horsham office.

This is a genuine leadership opportunity - offering autonomy to build and shape the department, recruit both support staff and fee earners, and drive the strategic direction of the Family practice.

The Opportunity

• Lead and grow the Family department

• Recruit and develop your own team

• Take a strategic role in departmental growth and performance

• Encourage collaboration across the team (billable hours not limited to your own caseload)

• Play a key part in the firm's Emerging Leaders programme

Caseload

You will oversee and handle high-quality private Family work, including:

• Divorce and separation

• Financial remedy matters

• Child arrangements

• Unmarried couples disputes

• Domestic abuse cases

• Surrogacy and modern family matters

About You

• 6+ PQE in Family Law

• Strong technical and commercial ability

• Leadership ambition and team-building mindset

• Confident managing complex financial matters

• Business development capability

• Strategic thinker focused on long-term growth

Bonus Structure

• 32% of gross salary bonus upon hitting billable hours target
