About this role
Partner - Energy & Construction Disputes (London)
Location: London, Hybrid
Practice Area: Energy & Infrastructure | Construction Disputes
Position: Partner (Equity or Fixed Share, DOE)
A leading UK law firm with a strong national and growing international profile is seeking an experienced Partner or established Legal Director to join its Energy & Construction Disputes team in London. This opportunity is ideal for an ambitious senior lawyer looking to step into a dynamic and modern environment where innovation, collaboration, and leadership are actively encouraged.
The Firm
This award-winning firm has built a reputation for its progressive culture, cross-sector expertise, and strong public and private sector client base. With a commitment to responsible business and legal excellence, the firm offers a unique platform for senior lawyers to grow their practice while making a meaningful impact.
The Role
As a senior figure within the firm's national Energy and Infrastructure group, you will play a key role in:
- Leading and growing contentious construction and infrastructure mandates, with a particular focus on the energy, utilities, and transport sectors.
- Handling high-value disputes across adjudication, arbitration, and litigation - often with an international dimension.
- Advising on complex issues arising from NEC, FIDIC, JCT and bespoke contracts.
- Building relationships with a broad range of clients including developers, energy providers, contractors, and public authorities.
- Supporting the development and mentoring of junior team members, contributing to a strong team culture.
- Collaborating with other practice groups and contributing to business development at a strategic level.
The Team
The Energy & Construction Disputes team is nationally recognised and sits within a wider multi-disciplinary energy and infrastructure group that includes regulatory, projects, and real estate lawyers. You'll be working alongside experts who are passionate about innovation and sustainability within the built environment and energy transition.
Candidate Profile
We are keen to hear from:
- Partners or Legal Directors with a strong track record in contentious construction and/or energy disputes.
- Individuals with a following or demonstrable ability to build a practice within a supportive and well-invested platform.
- Lawyers with experience in managing complex, high-value disputes domestically or internationally.
- Strong client development skills, commercial acumen, and a collaborative leadership style.
Why Join?
- Join a top-tier team with a national reputation and growing international presence.
- Hybrid and flexible working as standard - outcome-focused, not office-bound.
- Clear, transparent partnership structures (equity or fixed share options).
- Inclusive culture that genuinely supports work-life balance and career progression.
- Strong support for business development, innovation, and cross-practice collaboration.
