A leading regional law firm is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Construction Lawyer (Senior Associate or Salaried Partner) to join its highly regarded Property Department in Southampton. This is a rare opportunity to play a senior role in a busy and well-respected team, advising on a wide range of construction matters for high-profile clients across multiple sectors.

The Opportunity

You'll join a collaborative and forward-thinking firm that offers exposure to major developments and complex projects for developers, investors, landlords, tenants, and lenders.

The Role

You will:
* Draft, review and negotiate a full suite of construction documents including building contracts, professional appointments, warranties, guarantees, and bonds
* Advise on construction-related aspects of development agreements and funding arrangements
* Produce construction due diligence reports for commercial, industrial, and residential developments
* Lead transactions independently while mentoring junior colleagues
* Engage in business development and cross-team collaboration to grow client relationships and spot new opportunities

The Ideal Candidate

  • Senior Construction Solicitor with 10+ years' PQE, ideally with experience in both contentious and non-contentious construction matters
    * Sound technical knowledge and commercial awareness, with a proactive and pragmatic approach
    * Comfortable managing complex transactions and providing strategic advice to clients
    * Excellent drafting and communication skills - clear, concise, and client-friendly
    * Organised, financially astute, and confident handling high-value work
    * Strong leadership qualities, with a passion for mentoring and supporting junior lawyers
    * A collaborative team player with a drive to contribute to practice growth and wider firm success

Why Apply?

  • Join a recognised and respected firm with a long-standing reputation in the construction and property sectors
    * Competitive salary, bonus scheme and full benefits package
    * Hybrid and flexible working options to support a healthy work-life balance
    * High-quality work and excellent client exposure from day one
    * Inclusive, supportive culture with strong emphasis on personal and professional development
    * Genuine opportunity to shape and grow the construction offering within the firm
