Commercial Officer - Government Procurement - 12 month contract - SC Clearance

Are you an experienced Commerical Officer with experience working in government organisations and looking for a new project?

I am working with a government client who is looking for an additional 3x Commercial Officers to shape end-to-end procurements for their busy commercial team, helping stakeholders secure value from professional services suppliers.

Due to the nature of the client and urgency of the role, candidates who hold active SC clearance would be preferred.

I am therefore keen to speak with candidates who have

• Strong commercial experience in the public sector with a solid understanding of the commercial and procurement lifecycle.
• Knowledge or awareness of public procurement procedures and statutory frameworks, such as the Procurement Act 2023 or PcR 2015.
• Ability to run end-to-end procurements, selecting and using appropriate commercial tools for different types of projects.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret spend and market data and provide well-justified commercial recommendations.
• Experience working in a matrix environment, managing setbacks and resolving commercial issues collaboratively.
• Confident stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to adapt style to different audiences.
• Experience managing governance, risk controls and ethical standards across categories and supply chains.
• Desirable experience in international finance programmes and development finance procurements, including assessing financial and contractual risk.
