Where You'll Work
Real Estate is a core pillar of the firm's business, with approximately 60% of its lawyers operating within the sector. The practice covers the full real estate lifecycle, including investment, development, regeneration, construction, asset management, planning, environmental work and dispute resolution.
The team is recognised as one of the UK's top real estate practices and regularly advises on major projects spanning acquisition, development, investment and long?term asset management of significant schemes across the country.
What You Will Be Doing
You will handle a broad range of real estate matters, with a strong focus on clients operating in the affordable housing sector, including:
- Affordable housing providers
- Investors
- Developers
- Local authorities
- Specialist consultants
Your work will span major commercial transactions and complex development matters, with opportunities to collaborate closely with colleagues in other UK offices. As part of the wider real estate team, you will also gain exposure to projects within the broader living and commercial sectors, including senior living, mixed?use schemes and PRS developments.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Advising institutional investors and social landlords on investments across the affordable housing, PRS and alternative asset sectors
- Assisting with large?scale regeneration and redevelopment schemes
- Advising on the acquisition of development sites for residential and mixed?use schemes
- Managing portfolio sales and acquisitions for investors and social landlords
- Advising borrowers and lenders on property and security matters relating to development and infrastructure finance
- Handling a variety of property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures
- Conducting legal research and managing your own files
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
What You Will Need
- Newly Qualified Associate, having completed a Real Estate seat
- Strong drafting, analytical and communication skills
- Ability to manage your own caseload responsibly within a supportive team environment
- High level of client care and attention to detail
- Motivation to grow within a nationally recognised real estate practice
