Henderson Scott Finance and Accounting are recruiting a Finance Manager to become an integral hire for their client who is a growing SME based in Birmingham.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing finance team where you'll gain exposure to senior leadership and be mentored by an aspiring CFO and a high performing Financial Controller.
The Role
As Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in managing the day-to-day finance function and developing a small, capable team. You'll take ownership of financial accounting and reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement across all processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and mentor a small transactional finance team, supporting their growth and development.
- Manage month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accurate accounting treatment across credits and debits, accruals, and prepayments.
- Work closely with the FC on cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and management accounts.
- Identify process improvements and implement best practice controls.
- Support with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as required.
Your Profile
- Qualified or part-qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA (or QBE with strong experience).
- Solid grounding in financial accounting with a strong grasp of the fundamentals.
- Excellent Excel skills and the ability to interpret and present data clearly.
- Proven experience within an SME or mid-sized business, ideally with exposure to a larger group or international brand.
- A natural leader who enjoys coaching and developing others while remaining hands-on.
Salary
£50,000 - £55,000 with excellent company benefits
