We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join a critical Cyber Transformation Programme. This contract role is central to enhancing the client's cyber resilience by improving threat detection, response, and the efficient onboarding of digital services into the Cyber Operations Protective Monitoring capability.
The successful candidate will define, develop, and embed onboarding standards and processes to ensure operational excellence and consistency across the digital estate.
Key Responsibilities

Define minimum requirements, standards, and processes for onboarding digital services into Protective Monitoring.

Develop logging and monitoring standards aligned with operational use cases.

Create and maintain onboarding input requirements, forms, and Operational Acceptance Criteria (OAC).

Document, pilot, and embed the Digital Service Onboarding Process into ongoing operational service.

Support the design and delivery of cyber threat detection and response capabilities in collaboration with internal teams.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in cyber security engineering, operations, or monitoring environments.

Strong working knowledge of SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, ELK), logging standards, and protective monitoring frameworks.

Prior experience developing and implementing security onboarding or service transition processes.

Familiarity with security controls, incident response, and threat detection methodologies.

Ability to produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation (standards, procedures, templates).

Understanding of security operations best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
